Serial is a series of three books highlighting approaches to 20th century postage stamp design in three countries — England, Germany, and The Netherlands. These three countries were chosen because their unique styles of governance highlight the effect bureaucracy can have on design. Each book is designed with the color of the country's postal service as an identifier and large part of the visual language of the series. England's Royal Mail is red, Germany's Deutsche Post is yellow, and the Dutch Koninklijke TNT Post (changed to PostNL in 2011), is orange.
